BIO

Gabriela (she/her) is a New York Times, Publishers Weekly, ABA, and USA Today bestselling cartoonist based in Austin, Texas.

Originally from Philly, she studied oil painting at the PA Academy of Fine Arts and later pursued a degree in illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating, she worked as a character designer for 2D animation. She quickly transitioned into publishing, adapting two Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels for Scholastic Graphix, as well as co-creating and illustrating the award-winning bilingual graphic novel, Invisible.

Currently, she is writing and illustrating the graphic novel continuation of the Danny Phantom television series for Abrams Books and Nickelodeon.

When not drawing, she can be found yelling about & playing ice hockey.
